Xena: Warrior Princess

4.8/5 stars - Pure solid gold.

With six series from 1995-2001, Xena: Warrior Princess is ridiculously good, even after so many years. It's especially good seeing as it started out as a spin-off from Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (1995-1999). Hercules had about 100 episodes, with Xena having about 130 - even though it was a spinoff, it was a lot more successful. Hercules was more of a kiddies show, with the Warrior Princess being a little more spicey-funtimes.

As soon as that theme tune starts
"In a time of ancient gods" "aaggghhhh" - My gosh ! It just screams childhood.

This show wasn't exactly made with a lot of money, but half of the fun is watching the set wobble as someone bumps into it. Its wobbly sets and cheese-factor make every episode so bloody entertaining.

As well as Lucy Lawless, this show has a ridiculous amount of sexy people, like oh my Ares portrayed by Kevin Smith and my favourite New Zealander Karl Urban. I mean have you seen Urban as Cupid, sporting wings and crazy-dyed hair? And long-haired Ares, of course.
As the series goes on, you meet more and more crazy folk: The King of Thieves (only person to get away with that facial hair), the Amozonians, Joxter, Callisto (oh holy shite).

XWP has a range of vibes, from it's barely sensible episodes, to it's ridiculous ones, such as a day repeating itself over and over, Lucy Lawless jumping out of a cake wearing only squirty-cream.
("Joxter the mighty,
 he wears a girls nightie")

"I hate jugglers" (juggler gets punched in face) "be glad your not a mime."
