Buying art supplies in London
We may cry out at the prices of cartridge, trace and metal sheets, but we all know that they're essential. We also know that choice is essential in making your model or art piece personal and admirable. What we don't enjoy, and I think we can all agree on, is the price for our necessary appendages. The shops I've been able to visit and search through are London Graphic Centre (often called London Graphics), Atlantis and the 4D Model Shop, all of which are ideal for finding your desired medium. Though 4D is much smaller than the other two mentioned establishments, the staff are always available for assistance without being too close to you as you wander round the shop and too far away as to make you flail around to catch their attention. They also except student identification cards as a certified way of knocking off the price on produce so you can eat a heated dinner when you get home. After signing up at London Graphics you can get 15% off, and at 4D you can get 10% off. (Covent Garden also houses many wonderful establishments including my personal favourites Dr Martens and Snog). Though this may suggest that your best bet is London Graphics, I would answer "not necessarily". Though I thoroughly enjoyed the salesman enticing me with the brightly coloured tape London Graphics had to offer, the quaintness of a smaller shop willing to help you out and referencing Atlantis when they were lacking a certain product creates a much happier vibe and invites you to explore the area in search of the item you require. Even though this is a daunting task when a heavy gale is between you and the other store, there are several stops you can take along the way including Whitechapel Gallery and Blitz.
